It is a sad day once again

After having such a great birthday, life just had to come back and bite me on the ass!

At 5pm today I was called in for a brief meeting where I was basically told that Climax Handheld will not be renewing my contract when it expires on the 9th of September. This event happened due to the fact that the project I worked on was canned by the publisher last friday. This doesn't have anything to do with the quality of my work or with the quality of the project. It just came down to the publisher deciding that they don't want to go further with the project anymore.

This all came to a sudden shock to both me and Géraldine since it was only about 3 weeks ago that Climax Handheld renewed my work permit for another 5 years.

So I'm now once again job hunting. Actually there is 2 other persons also from my team that was told the same bad news.

To be honest at this stage the only thing that really matters to me is Géraldine. So if taking a "normal" programming job, or flipping burgers like a chav means that atleast I will still be able to see her every day, then yeah I will do that!

As irony will have it, this is a second time that me and my friend Justin Paver say good bye from the same company. Though he is leaving since he landed a job at nVidia before he even had the Climax job.

So this is how my BDay progressed...

Wicked! Wicked! This was the best birthday in years! The only thing I could wish for more, was that I could share it with my parents (still back in SA).

While I'm anxiously waiting for XNA Game studio express to become available today, I thought I might give a quick brief about how the day went.

The day started with a very nice breakfast in bed.

Spent an excellent lunch time with Géraldine.

Got back home where my honey started making me an excellent meal.



Gerry made me an excellent meal (as we would say in afrikaans "uit die boonste rakke!"), this is the first time I have ever had Fajitas (Fa-hee-tas).

After the excellent meal I was allowed to open my present. I just love gerry to bits!
A couple of weeks back we went to the Science museum and there I saw this mini plasma ball thingies. I don't know why, but for some reason I have always wanted one of these. And so viola! she got me one! Bui it doesn't stop there, she also got me a box of chocalates specially from Paris! (She went over for the weekend to go see her family)



This was a wicked 25th birthday!

It's my party and I can cry if I want to

Good morning yall!

Guess what? Today is my birthday, in fact it is my 25th birthday. Normally I don't make a big fuss about birthdays, it used to be just a normal day like any other. But this one is actually special for a numerous of reasons.

• This birthday is the first one not in South Africa.
• It is shared with a person that means a great deal in my life, which I believe is my life partner.
• I got served breakfast in bed :-)
• I received an sms early this morning from my best friend, still back in Africa.

The only sad thing is, this is also the first birthday I am unable to share it with my parents.

New site in the works

Hi all,

My site got defaced again about a week ago. This time it wasn't just some script kiddie, but atleast a descent hack. Not only did the person defaced my website, he defaced all of the index pages on the server. Hehehe must say that was pretty kewl. You can see the defaced page here.

After having my site defaced again, I have decided to revamp it a bit. I am switching over
to blogger for the blog part.

PS. I know the site got a bit boring since it started, only here and there a post or two, but no content. I will be scoping out the new XNA Game Studio the moment it is made available next week (30th of August, hey that reminds me, the 29th is my birth day). I haven't done anything kewl for a while now. So check out this site regularly. I am intending to release a couple of screenshots etc. etc.
